Siemens (Germany) - The Siemens Industry Automation Division has expanded its range of platform and compression load cells. There are now two new variants of the Siwarex WL270 K-S CA for high load and high-temperature applications, featuring an optional double bridge in the load cell to provide enhanced plant reliability. The range of available platform load cells has been increased to include the two versions Siwarex WL260 SP-S SC and Siwarex WL260 SP-S SB for high-precision and particularly high-speed applications.

Nuremberg, Germany. The new Siwarex WL270 K-S CA load cell is available immediately, and is supplied for rated loads of 350 and 500 tons. With its low installation height, this version is particularly suitable for use in container and hopper scales for high loads. An optional version featuring specially developed strain gauges and specifically adapted cables and accessories is available, ideally suited for high-temperature applications from -30 to +250 degrees Celsius. Also available is a new compression load cell with a strain gauge bridge in a redundant design. In this model, both measurement bridges supply a continuous stream of values. In case of failure in one of the bridges, the second remains available. The double bridge option ensures improved plant safety and is available from a load class of 13 tons.

With its platform load cells Siwarex WL260 SP-S SC and SB, Siemens now offers two new load cells for platform scales, checkweighers and batching applications. Both load cells come with a high protection rating of at least IP68 (IP69K in the case of Siwarex WL260 SP-S SC) and comply with the stringent hygiene requirements demanded in the food and pharmaceutical industries. An optional C4 MR variant makes the Siwarex WL260 SP-S SC particularly suited for high-precision applications. The extremely low nominal displacement of 0.03 to 0.19 millimeters and a high degree of rigidity also guarantee extremely fast weight measurement. This is of particular significance in high-speed dynamic applications such as checkweighing. Siwarex WL260 SP-S SC is suitable for platform sizes of no more than 800 x 800 millimeters, while Siwarex WL260 SP-S SB is designed for smaller platform sizes of up to 350 x 350 millimeters.
