Sartorius Intec (Germany) - Maximum security for silos.

Silo- and plant engineers are responsible to ensure that the purchased and used components comply with the latest standards and guidelines. An example for this is the use of weighing equipment for large silos. The mounting kits assuming here a static load-bearing function and must therefore necessarily meet the criteria of European norm EN 1090 in the building inspection area. How the building inspection area is defined varies by country and state and must be examined individually by the client. The EN 1090 only applies for mounting kits made of steel. If mounting kits are used that do not meet this standard, it can cause a claim to legal problems.

But not only the silo- and plant engineering is faced with the new regulation. Also, manufacturers must contribute on this. In order to be able to put structural components made of steel and aluminum on the market in the internal European trade, they must have a CE marking in accordance with EN 1090 since July 2014. Given that installation kits are a fundamental and structural component of the silo construction, the static verification is particularly relevant.

EN 1090 ensures Europe-wide the product quality through uniformly defined technical requirements.

Therefore it confirms to customers, that through the certification of manufacturers factory-owned production control, products comply with the requirements in specification and production process.

In addition to the factory-owned production control, Sartorius Intec has had certified the dimensioning of its mounting kits. This provides customers the great advantage that the individual dimensioning, i.e. the static calculation of the mounting kit by an external structural engineer, can be dispensed. This applies to the after EN 1090 certified and statically tested installation kits of the PR 6001, PR 6143, PR 6144 and PR 6145 series.

For customers, the use of installation kits certified after EN 1090, means both additionally security and saving of time and costs at the same time.
