Al Safwa increases loading operating efficiency with the IT-Logistics solution VAS®
FRITZ & MACZIOL (Saudi Arabia) - With the current migration of the IT-Logistic solution VAS® from version 04 to version 05, Al Safwa Cement Company (ASCC) is been different than competitors by being more customer oriented and bringing innovative solutions providing the basis for doubling the capacity of their plant in Saudi-Arabia. This cement plant is located in the western region and is a joint venture with Lafarge” said Eng./ Khaled Jadallah the Commercial Director of Al Safwa.

Currently the yearly capacity of two million tonnes will be further increased by creating a second line that will add another 5,300 tonnes to the daily cement dispatch. The decision for migrating towards the new VAS® version 05, lays in the successful history of the prior roll-outs of the VAS®- templates in Lafarge cement plants within Syria and the United Arab Emirates. „VAS® offers us the possibility to optimize our customer service dispatch processes in a way, that will allow us to double our current output while having a lower effort and have efficient organization to meet business goals“, as Ms. Ahdab Hanif, Customer Service & Distribution Manager at Al Safwa Cement Company, describes the advantages of VAS®. This project will furthermore be of high importance to visitors at the 19th Arab Intern Cement Conference & Exhibition AUCBM taking place from the 11th to 13th of November 2014 in the Moroccon city of Marrakesh. As the AUCBM is one of the industry-leading exhibitions in the Arab region, FRITZ & MACZIOL will join this occasion while being present with their own booth (A24+A25).

In order to speed up and to ease processes a unique service will be launched Exclusively in AL SAFWA „Signature on Screen“ technique. The driver does not have to exit his truck anymore in order to sign the delivery note as he simply signs on the electronic signature pad from his driver cabin. The delivery note itself will be parallely sent to the customer as a PDF file in real-time. Via its interface, VAS® will also be connected to the central ERP-System of Lafarge on the basis of J.D.Edwards/Oracle.

Beside the plant in Saudi Arabia, the IT-Logistic solution VAS® has also proven its capabilities in many additional plants in the Arab region, such as in Syria, the United Arab Emirates and two plants of the Ciments de l'Atlas CIMAT in Morocco.

About VAS®:
VAS® – the process-orientated software solution for the raw materials industry - forms the entire process chain from delivery via dispatch and loading, right up to departure. As the link between ERP systems and technical systems, VAS® represents the key function and the 'adjusting screw' for efficient process sequences. In addition, VAS® supports reporting functions and supplies real-time information to further systems, for example for Production, Sales or Controlling. All external technical systems such as the weighing, silo or metering technology are completely integrated into the VAS® logistics system processes. VAS® is currently used in more than 160 plants worldwide within the raw materials industry.
