Conveyor Belt Scale applications with Siemens Simatic Controllers
Siemens (Germany) - A new weighing module for conveyor belt scale applications using Simatic S7-1200 controllers has been developed by the Siemens Industry Automation Division. Siwarex WP241 combines a high level of functionality with a minimal footprint, making it ideally suited for a wide range of different industries – from cement through steel to food processing.

The new Siwarex WP241 weighing module is integrated into the Simatic S7-1200 controller with the utmost simplicity via the Engineering Frame-work TIA Portal. The flexible weighing electronics with their different inputs and outputs offer versatile connection scope. Standard functionalities such as the measurement of conveyed quantities, monitoring of belt speeds or belt loads can be individually adapted and upgraded.

Flexible weighing electronics:
A simulation mode permits function testing without moving the conveyor belt. The new weighing module is also fitted with versatile diagnostic functions for fast troubleshooting and analysis. Siwarex WP241 permits user-friendly operation at the Simatic S7-1200 or HMI (Human Machine Interface) panel via the TIA portal.
