Stevens Traceability Systems' Free average weight calculator launched for Food Manufacturers

Stevens Traceability Systems Ltd (United Kingdom) - Press Release: Weighing experts Stevens Traceability Systems Limited, based in the United Kingdom, has launched a free online tool for food manufacturers to calculate T1 and T2 weights for adherence to average weight legislation for packaged food products.

The Weights and Measures (Packaged Goods) Regulations 2006 states that when weighing packaged food products using the average system, manufacturers must comply with the Three Packers Rules, which dictates that the packaged goods must not be less, on average, than the weight declared on the label. A small number of packaged products can fall below a certain margin of error, the tolerable negative error (T1), and no package can be underweight by more than twice the TNE (T2).

“Understanding the legislation requirements our food manufacturer clients must meet is paramount in supporting them, with Average Weight being one. As a business, we wanted to make it quicker and easier for personnel in the food sector to calculate their T1s and T2s as we appreciated the regulations and calculations can be complex”, said Amanda Hatton, Marketing Manager.

The free online T1 and T2 calculator is the first of its kind and enables food manufacturers to calculate their TNE weights in a matter of seconds.
