Seca (Germany) - seca is once again one of the best among the best in the iF design awards 2013 competition. Of the 981 products granted the iF label for product design, 50 also received the iF gold award. seca was one of the winners. The iF gold award was conferred upon its medical Body Composition Analyzer seca mBCA.

Desirable use of form in medical applications

In explaining its decision, the jury got to the heart of seca’s design achievement:
The seca mBCA analyzes the composition of the human body. The simple and sleek design, however, belies the character of medical equipment. Consequently, the patient does not feel at the mercy of the machine, but always feels safe and secure. Because this reduced use of form is highly desirable in everyday medical practice, we reward this device with an iF gold award.

This goes to prove that the seca mBCA is not only a technical innovation but also a perfect example of outstanding design for the industry.
