Cardinal Scale (United States) - Software Engineer/PC, Programmer & Advanced Tech Support.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develops PC and embedded software solutions by examining software requirements.
  2. Windows Software Development & Sequel Server Development
  3. Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  4. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing software specifications, documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  5. Encodes specifications by converting logical sequence and workflow into program language.
  6. Verifies program code by conducting static and dynamic code analysis.
  7. Creates and executes software test plans.
  8. Updates job knowledge by studying state‐of‐the‐art development tools, programming techniques, and professional publications.
  9. Development of quality assurance procedures related to software design, implementation, and verification.
  10. Product support and liaison with customer service/technical support.
  11. Other duties as requested.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full Time Position / Employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

  1. 2+ years of software development experience/knowledge.
  2. BS (or MS) in Computer Engineering, Cybernetics, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, applicable scientific discipline, or experience to commensurate is required.
  3. Windows Software Development & Sequel Server Development
  4. Experience in software development using C, C++, C#, .Net, and SQL.
  5. Experience with integrating hardware and software systems.
  6. Solid understanding of cloud architectures and systems such as Azure and AWS.
  7. Good understanding of current web development techniques.
  8. Experience with design and requirements specification and commonly used tools.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Proven commercial software development experience
  2. A strong background programming with C, C#, C++, .Net, and SQL in a resource constrained environment.
  3. Experience in database design and architecture.
  4. Familiarity with real time operating systems and multi-threaded application development.
  5. Working experience in different software frameworks.
  6. Embedded development utilizing compilers such as AVR and Code Warrior.
  7. Experience with WCF, Service Oriented Architectures, and web service integrations (SOAP, REST, JSON, and XML.)
