Utilcell (Spain) - Press Release: We are proud to announce our collaboration in the development of Gaia, a Mars rover prototype designed by students at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), which recently competed in the European Rover Challenge in Krakow. Our high-precision weighing technology and sensors were key in the construction of this prototype, which is equipped to carry out critical tasks such as soil sampling and analysis in extreme environments.
Thanks to our expertise in industrial weighing solutions, our team worked closely with the students to integrate advanced sensors, enabling Gaia to gather reliable data and perform precise real-time calculations essential for tasks such as drilling and autonomous navigation. This level of innovation allows the rover to adapt to diverse terrains and realistically simulate the operations of a Mars exploration vehicle.
By collaborating on projects like Gaia, we reinforce our commitment to advancing technology and supporting the education of future engineers. We are proud to contribute our knowledge and technology to a project that promotes scientific development and positions Spain at the forefront of space research. Watch the video here.
