WIScale LLC (United States)

WIScale wasn’t always known by that name…

Founding father George Corbett worked initially as a technician in the Dakotas for 2 years servicing mechanical dial and lever scales. He spent another 8 years broadening his skill set within the scale industry before deciding it was time for something greater. George, along with his wife Helen, took a dream and forged it into reality in 1955. Wisconsin Scale was born.

They spent the next 21 years establishing and elevating many of the company’s standards still embraced today: things like a love for customers and the privilege to serve them in all capacities. In 1976, George incorporated Wisconsin Scale Service & Distributing, Inc.

As the company’s knowledge expanded, so did its distribution. Wisconsin Scale became one of the nation’s largest distributors of Fairbanks truck scales throughout the 70s and 80s. The company also serviced other big names like Howe, Cardinal, and Accu-weigh products.

With 45 years of experience in the scale industry, George had earned his retirement and was ready to hand the reins over to a very capable and ambitious man by the name of John Nelson. It just so happened that George’s daughter, LeAnn, was married to John. The two of them bought the company in 1990, and WIScale was born.

Since that time, WIScale has continued to redefine what it means to be the best in the business. WIScale has earned its place as one of the leading distributors of world-class Rice Lake Weighing Systems equipment. When you pair superior equipment with a dedicated and skilled team of people, the combination is darn near impossible to beat.
