A self-service PC scale that uses a camera and an artificial vision system to assist in the recognition of the product placed on the plate, improving the customer experience in the supermarket.

Artificial vision applied to scales allows, on the one hand, to offer a better customer experience, but, above all, it has proven to be a significant advance in the reduction of unknown losses of fruit and vegetables. 

When a product is placed on the scale plate, the system suggests one or more candidates depending on the certainty of detection, whit a maximum of 8 candidates displayed. If none of the suggested candidates corresponds to the correct item, the user must press the "other item" button to access the conventional self-service mode screen; and if no relevant product is detected, the conventional self-service screen is displayed.

The detection is carried out on the scale itself using artificial intelligence, without the need for internet connection; however, an internet connection is required for the training and learning stages of the system, which are carried out in the cloud.
