Botek selects Getac rugged tablet to power RFID Bin Weighing Solution

Getac (Sweden) - Getac’s F110 fully rugged tablet has once again been chosen by Botek to power its flagship in-vehicle RFID bin management solution for customers in the Nordic waste management industry. The announcement further extends the highly successful technology partnership between the two companies, which has seen Getac supply more than a thousand F110 devices to Botek over the past six years.

Headquartered in Ulricehamn, Sweden, Botek specialises in vehicle-mounted RFID bin management solutions. When refuse trucks empty a bin, Botek’s solution reads the bin’s RFID tag and measures/logs the weight of the refuse within it, enabling service providers to accurately bill clients according to the amount of waste collected. Getac’s F110 tablet sits the heart of this solution, running driver software and automatically transmitting operational directly from the cabin of the vehicle to the service provider’s offices.

Botek continues to choose the F110 due to its powerful combination of functionality and reliability. The device’s cutting-edge Intel® Core™ processor, light weight and large touchscreen display make it exceptionally easy to use in the field, while its fully rugged design and MIL-STD810G/IP65 certifications ensure seamless operation in a range of challenging conditions.

“Refuse collection is an extremely physical work environment and devices are subjected to a huge amount of punishment every day,” says Botek representative, Martin Abelson. “The F110 can handle all of this is and more, delivering powerful ROI for both ourselves and our customers. This is why it’s been our device of choice for the past six years, no other solution offers anywhere near the same levels of value or reliability.”

On the rare occasion that an issue does arise, Getac’s bumper-to-bumper warranty and fast turnaround time means Botek can have the device repaired and back in-situ fast, minimising costly downtime for customers.
