The production of food, animal feed, pharmaceuticals, plastics, chemical substances, etc. requires processing, handling, and monitoring a diverse range of bulk materials. Höfelmeyer Waagen's modular system provides a technology that offers extremely flexible functionality while optimally fitting into existing lines even in the smallest of spaces. This single technical solution can now combine such processes as weighing, filling, formulation, metal detection, and separation. The application is tailored to product, industry, manufacturer, and system requirements.

The Höfelmeyer filling scale with integrated metal detector is used in free-fall applications of bulk material with good flowability. Seamlessly embedded into existing pipelines, the combined system can fill powders, granules, fibres, and cuttings directly into large or small containers while checking for metal impurities. Even the smallest magnetic and non-magnetic metal parts are detected precisely. The self-learning system ensures reliable detection while being very easy-to-use. If metal is detected, the process controller receives a signal and the signal generator and separating system are also activated. The responsive separation devices guarantee a low-loss discharge of the unwanted metal. This conserves resources and allows the process to continue uninterrupted.

The system and filling process can be adapted to a wide variety of containers such as sacks, big bags, etc. Weighing ranges up to 3,000 kg can be realized. Depending on the type and size, different weighing platforms can be used, even those that can be calibrated. Special flexibility is provided by a weighing platform that can be folded down in working position for small containers, which can be optionally combined with an additional floor scale or drive-through scale for large containers. This allows a quick change during any ongoing processing.

Product selection, process control, and analysis can be carried out via the weighing terminal. The scale application makes it possible to depict the filling process and to control the customer's filling devices. When the filling level of the containers is reached, the filling stops fully automatically. It is also possible to do the filling manually.

The exchange with higher-level systems takes place via the network connection. As a result, even complex formulations and short-term changes to production orders can be implemented and reliable data management with seamless logging and traceability can be ensured.

The frame made of stainless steel can be moved by means of transport rollers and the system can be adapted to all common nominal pipe sizes. Similarly, the throughput, the position of the spout, and the free fall height can be adjusted according to requirements. In a technical modification, the mobile filling scale can also be used for liquid and pasty media. Höfelmeyer has placed great emphasis on high stability, user-friendliness, and optimal cleanability. The design complies with protection class IP65 / IP69K.
