OAS AG Contactless Check-In of lorries at Self-Service Terminals & efficient Yard Automation

OAS AG (Germany) - More than ever - in times of the pandemic - contactless processes have gained in importance. But how to reduce the contacts during the check-in of lorries?

The OAS AG has set itself the task of creating more efficiency and transparency in plant logistics with its service portfolio in the field of yard management.

Within the scope of yard management, the time windows for delivery, supervision, and control of the delivery traffic are managed at the receipt of goods. This includes the assignment of parking spaces in coordination with the operations required in the store to take in and out of stock as well as the management of the gates and of the waiting areas for lorries.

A hardware response to this is: the self-service terminal.

Self-service terminals make the processes on-site efficient – this preserves resources, reduces waiting times to a minimum, simplifies the management and control of the drivers on the premises. All to create transparency in intralogistics!

Self-service terminals enable the driver to register independently in different languages after entering the plant and weigh the lorry independently according to a simple step chain – without any personal contact with a porter. This is followed by a call to the assigned receiving or loading point, according to event-oriented planning, and documents are output.

It is even possible to integrate ERP systems into this process. The software logis developed at OAS, on the one hand automatically processes logistic processes in transportation of material and goods, and on the other hand provides for attended weighing. By combining smart hard- and software components, we ensure general efficiency of the logistic processes.

To optimise the waiting process for the control of incoming lorries and to avoid unnecessary tailbacks on the factory premises it is also possible to use pagers. As soon as it is the lorry's turn, the signal sounds and the driver can get ready for weighing. The pagers can be conveniently handed back by the driver before leaving the factory – thanks to the pager collection system at the terminal.

Whether it is about yard management, plant logistics, or dispatch automation, OAS AG combines decades of experience with in-depth process know-how to optimise operational processes: complex logistics processes, efficient loading, reduction of waiting times of lorries on the factory premises, or increase in transparency.

An optimum use of all existing resources saves costs and increases the productivity and quality of the entire logistics system.
